Vintage 1960s Japan Christmas Decoration Elves Pixies Drums 9" felt chenille?:
$24.00

Vintage Christmas decoration, made in Japan, from the 1960s (possibly late 1950s, but I'd say based on the the style the 60s is more likely). Stands about 9" tall. Composed of what seem to be cardboard drums covered in shiny designed paper and gold embossed foil, with some lined with pink felt. Elves have hollow plastic heads and bodies seem composed of felt or chenille and pipecleaners/wire inside, which connect the heads. The heads can be moved/rotated a bit, since they are on pipecleaners; the elf on top's head tilts to the side, as it seems there's some slack from the length of the pipecleaner...it can be pushed a bit to be straigher, but tends to eventually tilt again. Boots are made of very stiff type of felt, and two boots are bent (one on each elf)...I'm not sure if there's a way to get them back to normal...they're easy enough to straighten out, but when you let go they snap right back to their bent positions. The base is a circular piece of wood, covered with a type of plastic (one part of the plastic on the base is dented in, see the 5th picture). Some of the gold foil tinsel/trim (which is a separate piece, formed by a ring wrapped around the base, not glued to the piece itself) strands are bent or stick up.
