VHTF ISI 1038 Saxony 10" 78rpm shellac Exc Birds Carnival/Two Finches pre-WWI:

Scarce I.S.I. Saxony label. Internationale Schallplatten Industrie based in Leipzig applied for the label patent in 1910, and the four-language label is the norm in the examples I've found. The English-only labels were produced for the UK market with some recordings originating in London, but the bulk of those appeared on the red Isiphone Concert Series label for which ISI received the patent in 1912. I've only found one other original black & gold label English-only recordings in any collections, so these are quite rare. From a local estate.
ISI 1038 "The Birds' Carnival"/"The Two Finches" whistling duets by Messrs. Wills and Lawrence recorded in London. As shown in pics, matrix numbers are reversed from label; side a shows 4636 on label and 4628 in matrix; side b shows 4628 on label and 4636 in matrix. Record is in excellent condition and shows only minor chipping at the edge, and chips do not encroach on the recorded surface. New generic 78 sleeve.
