This is an exquisite sculpture with attention given to every detail. The artist name is signed twice on the drum but I cannot make out the name. I believe it is J. Quieuauir. I did a lot of research and this is the best I can do. On the lower part of the drumbeat is an inscription that looks like Jevia. The other signing may be a stamp but looks Painted on an it is a large stylish script of the letter N and it has a half circle of tear drops! I u detests daughter in Italian art, this means the item was made in Naples, Italy.
This unique looks like it was made from the hands of a Master Scupture. Every detail is perfectly crafted. He is a large figurine wearing a long green coat, vest, large dress pants, a tiny red hat on his head and very large pointed black shoes where you will find th Napes inscription. He is playing a violin and had a drum beside him.

I was given this Clown by a friend who was in looking at the displays in New York City where he was a guest of a wealthy host. The story is that Dean Martin came in an picked it up said "Very Nice. I may come back for this." My friend picked it up and saw the price tag of $900 and said, "I would like it too", laughing. The next thing he knew was that a package was put in his hands with "It's a gift."
I have collected clowns for years. One day, this friend placed the package in my hands saying, "I don't need this anymore. It's yours. The story is true. Along comes a deep and sincere wish for good luck.
