The Test Pressing was most likely recorded at Deep South Recorders, Baton Rouge, Louisiana in September, 1971.The rediscovered tapes of Longhair’s ‘lost’ 1971 sessions yielded some of the best recordings of his career.It appears on the Rounder Records release from 1987 \"House Party New Orleans Style (The Lost Sessions 1971-1972)\" Catalog #2057.The songs were recorded in 1971 and 1972 and they were stored in the vaults of Bearsville Records before being released in 1987.Professor Longhair (piano/vocals) is featured withSnooks Eagin (guitar), Will Harvey, Jr./George Davis (bass) Not all players appear on all tracks.The album won a Grammy Award, in the \"Best Traditional Blues Recording\" category in 1987.
