I am the original purchaser and owner of this Mattel Synsonics Drum synthesizer, purchased in 1982/1983 for private use. It has been carefully stored for many decades in my house. I recently unboxed it and plugged in a 9VDC, 1 Amp walwart power supply, turned it on and it worked beautifully. I read the user instruction manual again and put it through a number of drum cycles and rhythms, using the drum pads and the associated snare, Tom Tom1, Tom Tom 2 and Cymbal finger buttons while listening with headphones on the stereo headphone jack. I also used drum sticks on the drum pads and they worked perfectly. I then tested the Volume control, Bass tempo, Slower/Faster buttons and all three memory banks for storing to and playing back drum sequences. It all worked just like when it was new. I visually checked the battery box contacts and they looked in good condition.
I'm including the original instruction manual and a stereo RCA plug audio cable along with PDF files of the Mattel Synsonics Drum Service Manual and the Instruction Manual, which will be emailed.
