The \"Magnificent Magnavox\" . Here are two complete amplifier and speaker components from two Magnavox Belvedere consoles made in 1941. This sale includes 2: model 101-1 tube amplifiers and 4: Magnavox field coil speakers. Each amplifier has the correct pair of Magnavox speakers: one 10: mode 12L131 and one 12\" model 302. The Belvedere console was Magnavox\'s most expensive console selling for nearly $1000 in 1941. As much as a new Chevy! These are field coil speakers MADE BY JENSEN (Not permanent magnet!) . The amplifiers and speakers are clean, please see the photos. The field coil speakers use the high voltage of the amplifiers to energize the electromagnets. One speaker of the pair is 10\" with a straight cone and the other connected speaker is a 12\" with a curvilinear cone. The pair works in tandem to reproduce the entire sound spectrum. One of the 12\" speakers has two superficial non-major \"tears\" that can be easily repaired with rubber cement. The pair of speakers(10\" and 12\") are connected together into one plug that plugs into the amplifier. Each amplifier uses four 6V6 tubes in push pull and two 5Y3 power tubes and does not use the typical input driver/splitter tube found in all tube amplifiers but instead uses a splitting input transformer.The amplifiers can also be used with any newer standard permanent magnet speaker via a speaker connector on the amps. I have tested the amps and speakers using a Belvedere tuner plugged in for use as power switch only and they are working and sound loud and clear using my cell phone and U-Tube music connected to the input of input transformer (Silver color transformer). I have tested with the field coil speakers AND using newer bookshelf pioneer speakers and the amps sound very good with my 12\" Pioneer bookshelf speakers. The field coil speakers are working but I did not test them in the wood cabinets. These can be installed directly into Magnavox consoles similar to the Belvedere that use the dual speakers. ALSO they can be used for home stereo applications with suitable input and AC power switch added by the buyer. Many audiophiles have restored used these amplifiers as their power amplifiers with great results. In my opinion as an audiophile for over 50 years the 6V6 tube is the very best audio amplifier tube, and nothing will beat a push-pull 6V6 tube amplifier for best sound quality. These \"Magnificent\" tube amps are capable of 20 watts of undistorted output when restored with new tubes and capacitors. These great amps soud so good because there are very few internal parts, only Please note that although I have variac\'ed and briefly tested the amps and speakers that due to the great age of these components (Nearly 80 years old), I am selling them AS-IS FOR PARTS, REPAIR OR RESTORATION with no return. Consider these to be a project for restoration. The amplifiers have such great sound because the amplifier circuits are EXTREMELY SIMPLE with very few internal parts, only a few capacitors and resistors!!. I am supplying a copy of the Rider schematic which shows all components and will serve to help the buyer easily install input RCA plugs to use this for home stereo amplifiers.
