Seven ( 7 ) Shows were played at the Academy of Music in New YorkCity in Late-March ( 3/21-28/72 ), and if you have heard pieces, parts or all ofthat magnificent run - then you already know how \" effective \" that NYCrun was as the ideal \" Tour Warm-Up \" for this Big-Time Europe \'72stretch that was right around the corner. Europe \'72 kicked-off at theWembley Empire Pool ( London ) on 4/7/72 & 4/8/72, as part of a two-nightstand. And right after that, the band performed at the \" CityHall \" at Newcastle upon Tyne, England, then to Copenhagen, Aarhus( Denmark ), \" back \" to Copenhagen, to Bremen ( Germany ), to Dusseldorf( W. Germany ), to Frankfurt ( W. Germany ), to Hamburg ( W. Germany ), to Paris, tothe Bickershaw Festival ( Wigan, England ), to Amsterdam, to Rotterdam ... andthen \' back \' to France - captured here in amazing-audio ... \' Live \' right from the LilleFairgrounds !!! on 5/13/1972 !! Wow ! I certainly hope that you might have been oneof the very-fortunate ones that attended this incredibly mid-May event - over40-Years ago ! But out of all of these wonderful Europe \'72 releases ...this is one of the ones that has me so incredibly \" visually \" curious- you know ? I mean here we have the Good Ol\' Grateful Dead in anunarguable \' Prime \' - in their 7th year as a band together, and they are playingthe \" Lille Fairgrounds \" - in France ! I mean with this being oneof the fewer \" Outdoor \" Venues on this amazing Tour - there wasnaturally more space, and less seats ... right ? So this might very wellmean that a number of folks that saw this one, were there because they heard itwas the-cool-thing-to-see locally - versus making a G.D. Show an entire plan& destination - like most of us know so well. And then you break downthis phenomenal set list - with the Band playing just this well ( as you\'ll hearin this set ! ) ... so my point is - some people must have just had theirminds-really-Blown !?! You know, like seeing & hearing something likeyou\'ve never ever seen or heard before - certainly keeping well in mind thatthis was Rock \'n Roll\'s hey-day -- and it was Really ! the beginning hey-day ofLive-Concerts ... considering the ground-work like bands the likes of LedZeppelin had accomplished in the live concert industry. But this onehere ? In Lille ? Right at the Public & wide-open Fairgrounds ?? I think it\'s very safe to saythat this one must have really-really snuck-up on some Folks, and when theywalked out of this Amazing Show ? It might have even changed their life ...and it\'s probably really safe to say that they might have \'changed \' theirfavorite-band !?! I just can\'t imagine ... if You ! were at this one, wellhere is a pat on the back for you - and a salute too ! Did you see thisGuy on the CD Cover ? Are you this guy on the CD Cover ? Ha !Just kidding ... but that would indeed be very cool. This 3-CD Set was purchased brand new / factory sealed - was played very carefully only one-time, and has been very carefully stored inside protective plastic in my professional CD rack.
