DESCRIPTION: Nepocin was aCroatian (formerly Yugoslavia) band, formed out of the ashes of the hard rockact Drugi Način when they disbanded briefly after Branko Pozgajec left forservice in the army. Guitarists of Drugi Način, Ismet Kurtovic and Halil Mekicteamed up with bassist Bozo Ilic-Dugi, drummer Branko Knezevic-Kneza and keyboardistDamir Sebetic and formed this five-piece line-up, which recorded one album forthe RTB label in 1977, Svijet Po KojemGazim, recorded at Studio Akademik in Ljubljana. The band have a hardprogressive rock sound meshing dual guitars, keyboards, flute, acoustic guitar,with dark yet dramatic vocals; similarities to Jethro Tull and Uriah Heep. Bylate 1978 they had returned to performing under the name Drugi Način. Don’t letthe Croation (if that is their language) vocals put you off as this is quite animpressive set they deliver; repeated plays will reap their rewards. Worthy ofyour further investigation.
