*The copyright date is: 1864. Inscribed to Major General George McClellan. Rare in arrangement as 'song for guitar'. Rare in full folio. Rare in World Cat, which in an earlier search found only one copy of the Philadelphia imprint with litho (the title was also released in Cincinnati with a somewhat different image). One of the most evocative images of Columbia used on music during the war, chromo by Sinclair (Phil.). There is a slight color variant of this that also exists. Possible third state of publication. There is a date on title page of July 4, 1861. A similar state printing with title and image sold for $280 in 2009 (sale result attached). Complete song at 5 pages, ads on back. This is a powerhouse color litho for the Civil War period!
