This is a rare French drum clock with an alarm complication. The clock ran while it was waiting to be listed and after. I could not get the alarm to function. The movement looks like a typical French movement, but with a fixed bob on the pendulum leader and the movement plates are squared off to accommodate the alarm feature. There is an “AD” stamp on the lower left, rear movement plate. This one looks all original with original hands and dial. The case may have been polished and lacquered years ago, but the patina is nice and not too shiny. These clocks were not imported to the US in any large quantity, so they don’t come up for sale all that often in this country. This is a very high quality clock in nice restorable condition with an interesting escapement. It’s priced to sell so don’t miss it!
