1860’s Julia Ward Howe tintype. Unknown publisher. Julia was a 19th century civil rights activist. She is most famous for writing the “Battle Hymns of the Republic.” The tintype is matted with song sheet lyric. This is the first only and tintype I’ve seen of owned to have a song back. I’ve owned this tintype for about 14 years now. Mat has stains, toning, wear and creasing. Tintype have stains, toning, wear, creasing, scratching, paint loss and emulsion. The mat is about 2 by 4 inch in size. Feel free to ask questions.
