Liam Gallagher - Vocals Noelle Gallagher - Vocals/Writer Paul Arthurs - Guitar Paul McGuigan - Bass Alan White- Drums Out of Manchester Liam Gallagher (Vocals), Paul Arthurs (Guitar),
Paul McGuigan (Bass), and Tony McCaroll (Drums) are the fab four that
formed Rain in 1991. Noelle Gallagher (Vocals/ Writer) joined the
group and took his post as first in command after changing the groups
name to Oasis. With a slew of private rehearsals under their belt,
Oasis recorded a demo that landed in the hands of Creation Records.
The group was signed and work on their first album ensued. Oasis flashed from obscurity when their music began topping
charts. Having a slew of blisteringly successful singles helped debut
the groups maiden album, Definitely Maybe, at number one. Selling
over a million albums in the U.K. in 1994, Oasis quickly gained
popularity in the states while touching gold status. In the true vein of rock and roll, sex and drugs blatantly fused
themselves in the day to day lives of the band. Strained
relationships lead to the departure of Tony McCaroll in 1995, who was
replaced by Alan White. As tension mounted the brothers Gallagher
began quarreling amongst themselves. U.S. tours were canceled due to
insurmountable differences, and the band returned to the U.K. Rumors
soon began to fly of an inevitable split. The band stayed together
releasing their second album Morning Glory, which again debut at
number one in the U.K. Oasis went on to record many more albums
putting their differences aside for their love of music. Sonia Semone September 2005
