A Rush of Blood to the Head - Coldplay
Questions, comments, suggestions - k_ekakia@hotmail.com
Initially, I wasn't that big on this song, but after awhile it grew on me and became one of my favorite Coldplay songs, ever. The actual version has an extra string tuned to D from what I can hear. This version is as accurate as I could get it using standard tuning, and it's quite easy with only one barre.
Tuning (EADGBE) Am (x02210) C/G (332010) Em (022000) F (xx3211) FÄ7(#11) (xx3200) D7 (xx0212) BbÄ7 (xx3335) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My strumming for each stanza chord: down,down,down,down,up,down,up,down, (little pause)up,down,up
My strumming for each chorus chord: down (x8)
In any case, you'll figure it out. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Am C/G He said I'm gonna buy this place and burn it down
Em Am I'm gonna put it six feet underground
Am C/G He said "I'm gonna buy this place and watch it fall
Em Am Stand here beside me baby in the crumbling walls
(The Am|C/G|Em|Am section occurs two more times)
Oh I'm gonna buy this place and start a fire Stand here until I fill all your heart's desires Because I'm gonna buy this place and see it burn Do back the things it did to you in return
(Add an extra Am here)
F FÄ7(#11) x2 Ah ah ah, ah ah ah...
Am|C/G|Em|Am x2 He said I'm gonna buy a gun and start a war If you can tell me something worth fighting for Oh and I'm gonna buy this place that's what I said Blame it upon a rush of blood to the head
F Honey
F D7 All the movements you're starting to make
D7 F See me crumble and fall on my face
F D7 And I know the mistakes that I made
D7 BbÄ7 F See it all disappear without a trace.
F D7 And they call as they beckon you on
D7 BbÄ7 Am They said start as you mean to go on
Am|C/G|Em
Am Start as you mean to go on
(Okay, that's it. You just repeat the same chords for the next stanza and chorus, and so on. At the end of the song there are some nifty chords, but I'm not sure how to explain them.)
He said "I'm gonna buy this place and see it go Stand here beside my baby, watch the orange glow Some will laugh and some just sit and cry But you just sit down there and you wonder why
So I'm gonna buy a gun and start a war If you can tell me something worth fighting for And I'm gonna buy this place that's what I said Blame it upon a rush of blood to the head Oh to the head
(Add extra Am here, again)
Honey All the movements you're starting to make See me crumble and fall on my face And I know the mistakes that I made See it all disappear without a trace. And they call as they beckon you on They said start as you mean to go on As you mean to go on, as you mean to go on
So meet me by the bridge, Oh meet me by the lane When am I going to see That pretty face again
Meet me on the road Meet me where I said Blame it all upon A rush of blood to the head
