- An adjective describes someone or something. Examples: creative, red, ugly and short.
- An adverb tells how something is done. It modifies a verb, and usually ends in "ly." Examples: greedily, rapidly, modestly and carefully.
- An animal is an animal. Examples: dog, lion, cat.
- A color is a color. Examples: blue, red, yellow.
- An exclamation is a word exerted as a !!! Examples: Ahhhh!!, Woah!!, Ouch!!
- A letter is simply any letter from the alphabet. Examples: a, d, m.
- A mood is a feeling. Examples: sad, happy, upset.
- A name is a person's name. Examples: Debbie and Matt.
- A noun is the name of a person, place or thing. Examples: umbrella, sidewalk, telephone and policeman.
- A number is a number. Examples: 1, 4, 10.
- A plural noun is a noun only more than one. Examples: boxes, lamps.
- A proffession is a job. Examples: Carpenter, Police Officer, Computer Worker.
- A -ing verb is a verb that ends in -ing. Examples: running, swimming.
- A verb is an action word. Examples: run, jump, swim and fly.
